Jenna Dreydoppel grew up in North Pole, Alaska. She was inspired at a young age to pursue music by her mother, Nancy Dreydoppel, her elementary school music teacher. Growing up in a family of musicians nurtured her love for music her entire life. She has been singing and performing since she was a young child. In High school she studied voice with Jonathan Dillon (UAF Alumni and current Alaska music educator), Connie Oba (Current Alaska Music Educators Association president) and Dr. Jaunelle Celaire (Dr. of Voice at UAF). Jenna attended the Alaska All-state Music Festival all four years of high school auditioning for first chair sophomore and junior year, then winning first chair her senior year. She also attended the Alaska State Solo/Ensemble Festival all four years of high school earning superior ratings each time and winning three command performances. She attended the All-Northwest music festival twice throughout her high school career and was selected for the All-National honor choir in 2013.
Jenna is now in her third year of college pursuing her passion, music education. Another music educator, Bruce Hanson, inspired her to pursue a career in high school music education. She hopes to direct a high school choir program upon graduation from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She is a double major with Music Education and Vocal Performance and a minor in Theatre. Jenna Studies voice at the university under Dr. Jaunelle Celaire. In her time at UAF she has won the UAF Opera Fairbanks Apprenticeship for the 2017 Opera Fairbanks season and has won Honorable mention at the National Association for Teachers of Singing vocal competition. Jenna is currently working on her Junior Recital for next school year and the Concerto Competition next January.
Jenna is the current president of the UAF NAfME (National Association for Music Education) chapter. She also teaches a kindergarten music class at Open Arms and teaches choreography to the cast of North Pole High Schools yearly musicals.
